In
1999, the European Union and the CARIFORUM financed the creation
of the Regional Internship Exchange System, later renamed
as Tourism Internship Exchange System - TIES for the Caribbean
-
Almost 88 students and employees within the Hospitality-Tourism
industry participated so far.
The System is regional coordinated by the School of Hotel
Management from the Pontificia Universidad Católica
Madre y Maestra and has the backup of all its affiliated local
coordinators and the Caribbean Hotel Association - CHA -
The Concept: to provide a working experience in hotels, restaurants
or tourism industry for students or employees
The Goal: to improve the quality of tourism by developing
the human resources while fostering the integration of the
region.
